Today (Friday) was the final practice day. The Team was
really productive in putting some lines together, getting footage, and
taking photos. Things really came together nicely by the end of
today.
Here is how the contest is going to work. We have entered 5 team
riders as starters. They are Dave Kaule, Justin Funk, Zach Funk,
Ryan Kyser, and Chris Morgan.
3 Of them will skate on Saturday and 2 will skate on Sunday.
Here are their listings by Heat #’s:
Dave Kaule Heat #1 Saturday
Justin Funk Heat #4 Saturday
Zach Funk Heat #9 Saturday
Ryan Kyser Heat #3 Sunday
Chris Morgan Heat #6 Sunday
There are approximately 12 Skaters /Heat and they will each get 2 - 45
Second Runs. The best run counts. Then all of the teams totals
are calculated. Teams with the highest points overall place
accordingly.
This contest is going to be so sick. The skill level is high but
even. There are so many skaters on the same level that it is
going to make the contest very interesting. Its pretty crazy and
I’ll keep you posted.
Here are some photos from today:

Dave ollie into the bank.
Here is a secret: This is how he is going to start one of his
runs. No one else tried this all day, but he closed the practice
session with this gapper. This is a high energy arial
maneuver. It is a good way to start in this park. We’ll see
who else copies this tomorrow. (Actually, the real secret is that
he was having some BM problems and today was the day his bowels came to
life. He is actually 10 pounds lighter in this photo that he was
just 12 hours ago)

Chris Morgan Pop Backside Over Krook. He was nailing this all day. He was landing B/S Noseblunts on this rail too.

Chris Morgan Pop Shuv-it Tail Grab: Probably my favorite photo of the
trip so far. So sick. I think he landed like 8 out of
10. These were on.

Zach Funk Frontside Blunt on the flat rail: Clean, fast, Zach Style.

Dave B/S Krook on Jersey Barrier. Dave was actually done skating
for the night about 20 minutes before this photo was taken. But
then they posted the heats and we soon found out that he was in Heat
1. So he started skating again. He thru down this trick and
the next one within first minutes of warming up.

Dave B/S Lip Jersey Barrier.
Side note: If you ever want to take photos at a contest, realize
that you can’t. At least, you can’t without getting killed.
It is just pure chaos. Within a 1 minute time period you will see 30-40
Tricks and this goes on from Noon to Midnight and never lets up. You
have to hide in a corner and shoot telephoto. It is amazing that
there are any contest photos in existence at all.
Later
